Fritzdorf Windmill

With the intention to get away from the general events and the usual rituals on New Year’s Eve, I had the idea to hold a music session in the Fritzdorf windmill over New Year’s Eve.

It was quite an effort to heave everything up the long narrow wooden stairs. Another challenge were the temperatures. But thanks to sufficient electricity and gas heaters, this was well under control, at least in the core area.

Another surprise was the room acoustics, which I would not have expected to produce as many standing waves as it was unfortunately the case due to the heavily roughened walls, despite full 360° curvature. But in the end everything was half as bad. We had a great time and it was still surprisingly rich in good results of which you get a sample below.

“Entertaining but a bit cold.”
